How I Became an Online English Teacher?

I want to share my experience how to be an ESL Online Tutor. At first, it was  only my curious desire to experience how to teach online since I was teaching for almost twenty-seven years in classroom setting always.

As a member of GLE (Global Literacy Education) which is affiliated to Literacy and Evangelism International (LEI), I had a chance to teach Basic English Conversation at Gloria School in Kathmandu, Nepal for about three years (2007-2010).

I got involved in some adult English literacy endeavors. These experiences made me to have a new desire and new experience to teach English language online.

What are needed to do online teachings?

1. Reliable internet connection

2. Updated computer specifications required by the Online tutorial company

3. Headphone with external microphone

What are the procedures to get in Online tutorial company?

1. Pass the English Proficiency test required

2. Interview online and actual teaching demo

3. Online video trainings

4. Endorsement from the company to open bank account

5. Be patient for some intructions to be given by your coach from time to time.

Our Sketches and Drawings

Still in the 1980s, the influence of comics drawing really gave me the encouragement to enhance my talent in sketching and drawing. From my imagination I drew a picture of a woman that really depicted a character from famous comics drawing of that time.

At the former building of Western Philippine Colleges [now is University of Batangas] I honed my talents and even my guts to offer these kinds of stuff to some classmates and even from another department. Really the power of the songs and sketches about love and natural settings were in demand during that time maybe thirty years ago.

I could not imagine how I survived during my college days just by selling this kind of stuffs room after another. Now I realized that since then I had the talent of selling and promoting my own
products without hesitation. It was quite a lot of orders of different contemporary songs with requested designs that I have drawn all the nights. Pushing me to the extreme of needs and survival now I can say by the grace of God, I made it.

Just grabbing a ballpoint pen, it made me to recall again how to sketch of a face of an emotional woman. I'm particular about eyes's expression and lips mysterious profile. When I went to Nepal as a literacy missionary then I realized that the facial features that I was always imagined were real. Nepali women have nice chiseled nose and big eyes.

Pandemic quarantine in the Philippines started March 16, 2020. My son Paul, he is now turning 16 by December, really has the passion of anime drawing by hand. Before he was just copying some styles of anime characters until he discovered that he can make out of his own.

Through his Digital Drawing Pad, he made the above character just only to make some practice how to operate some features of his digital pad. Color combination and even intricate shadings is his forte.

This second character still doesn't have its name. It's unknown. Paul's purpose is just to challenge himself how to make a character with its frontage and back features. Making sure that the image in the front especially the costume of the character be parallel with the back image itself.

A logo speaks a lot. This logo is designed by Bro. Arj Garcia, member of Batangas Gospel Church of Batangas. I'm so thankful for his effort of making logo in relation to our present church planting being done in Ciudad Nuevo, Barangay Sabang in the town of Naic, Cavite.

What does this logo represent?

As to shape, most of logos are circular or round in shape. This one is much different which represents a ship voyaging in the sea of life. Inside the ship are the three visible crosses which remind the sacrifice of Christ for the salvation of many. As kids' song says, "With Christ in my vessel, I can smile at the storm."

The symbols raising up means pointing up to Jesus Christ with the symbol of a dove for the Holy Spirit emphasizing all achievements for church planting is for the "glory of God" alone so that every accomplishment is by His amazing grace.

How amazing is that grace?

We cannot measure grace. Never to be balanced since it is a merit given to undeserving sinners only saved by grace.

"But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many." - Romans 5:15

Praise the Lord!

Tentmaking For Missionaries

TENTMAKERS

Christians who go out to other cultures today for the sake of the gospel but who support themselves in secular occupations rather than expecting to receive financial support from a church or mission agency are known as "tentmakers". The term "tentmakers" is derived from the occupation in which the Apostle Paul labored on those occasions when he felt the receiving support from other Christians would hinder the effectiveness of his ministry or would be misinterpreted by the unbelievers.

Tentmakers are God's guerilla forces. Mission agencies are God's regular armies, but we need guerilla forces that can enter closed countries and infiltrate every structure of society.

Bible School Teaching Ministry

TEACHING MINISTRY 2015

Teaching Ministry at Convention Baptist Seminary in Sto.Nino, Meycauyan, Bulacan.

Tentmaking missionaries

Tentmaking missionaries are like eagles. They soar up above financial strains; capable of flying above the storm. Challenges make missionaries to give up but God is there much higher than us who knows the best and provides for those who are committed and willing to face the obstacles of life to fulfill His will.
